Generator Overhauling

Standard scope of work during disassembly: (a) De-coupling of generator & noting initial alignment readings. (b) Visual inspection of rotor, stator, cooler, SUN foundation bolt tightness, main stator, exciter stator & PMG; inspection of main rotor, exciter rotor, RRA, diodes, wheel & slip ring; checking cables & winding overhangs. (c) Recording DE & NDE bearing readings, oil seals, main stator & rotor gaps, DBSE of low speed coupling before & after dismantle. (d) Removal of exciter stator with air gap recorded; removal of DE & NDE bearing housing (TOC recorded). (e) Main rotor removal using unique rotor removable tool. (f) Healthiness check of DE & NDE bearing bush by dye penetration test (DP test). (g) Assembly of bearing housing & oil lines, positioning of coupling guards. (h) Alignment of low speed coupling — generator to gear box.
